Grants & Funds Currently Available
- Critical Needs Grants are available to remove a barrier to stable, safe, long-term housing or to replace the ability to earn income. Available to homeowners and renters.
- The Animal Habitat Fund will help with the replacement of livestock and domesticated animal related infrastructure such as chicken coops, dog runs, water troughs, sheep fencing, etc.
- The Senior Respite Fund is for seniors 60 and over to provide some respite care. This could be used to hire a landscaper to help with yard work or replanting, at home counseling, house cleaning, odds and ends, self-care classes such as Feldenkrais or exercise classes, etc.
- The Septic Inspection Fund is for all homeowners effected by the fire. The fund will pay for a home septic inspection to make sure the septic is in working condition.
- The Utility Restoration Project can help you with financial assistance, guide you through the process and answer questions about replacing damaged utilities.
- An Arts Grant is available through The Arts Council of Mendocino County for the replacement of art supplies and musical instruments. Hobbyists and professionals encouraged to apply. Information available at the Resource Room.
- A Therapy Grant is available to help survivors cover the cost of up to ten sessions with a local therapist.
Support & Guidance Available
- Talk with case managers to help define a long-term recovery plan for you and your family.
- Programs and information for rebuilding available for homeowners.
- Check in with the M-ROC Resource Room to get up to date grant applications, local resources, and answer questions about building and planning.
- Assistance with FEMA applications and appeals.
- Emotional and Spiritual Support referrals available through a case manager.
Housing Resources Available
- Hope City is offering volunteer built, low-cost, stick-built pre-designed homes to fire survivors identified through the Case Management process. To learn more or apply contact a Case Manager.
- Section 8 low-income housing available for income qualifying fire survivors. Those impacted by the fire will receive priority status. To learn more and apply contact the CDC Housing Authority.
- Case managers maintain a short list of Available Rentals offered to fire survivors.
Material Resources Available
- Planter Boxes are available via Operation Garden Box for survivors who sign up at the MendoLake Fire Relief Resource Center – Located next to the firehouse in Redwood Valley or contact 707-489-3970.
- Mail Boxes are available via Operation Mail Box for survivors who sign up at the MendoLake Fire Relief Resource Center – Located next to the firehouse in Redwood Valley or contact 707-489-3970.
- Household and personal items available at the MendoLake Fire Relief Resource Center – Located next to the firehouse in Redwood Valley or contact 707-489-3970.
- House in a Box is a program run by St. Vincent De Paul for renters and homeowners who still need basic household items such as beds, dining room tables, dressers, etc.
Come by the Resource Room and talk to a Case Manager to apply for resources.
